Backlash Fanuc Parameter – CNC Machining

What is backlash

Backlash is the loss of mechanical motion that can be of mechanical or electrical problems, which can cause loss of accuracy on CNC machines. Basically is the number of screws must be at play when reversing prior to axis / table began to move. Backlash to the test by using a dial indicator, ballbar, laser and others to determine how much motion is lost.

By way of entering into the parameter value, so when the axis changes direction, it will determine when the axis will move. Parameter values in millimeters. Below are the parameters for adjusting backlash.

Fanuc O M
535 = X
536 = Y
537 = Z
538 = 4th

Fanuc 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 18, 21, 16i, 18i, 21i

1851 = XYZ

Note: Make sure your ball bearings That support the screws do not have any slop in Them before you go making changes and check the backlash in both directions and you Should be good to go. Before you change the parameter values used to write the original value in the first parameter. Parameter values 10 = 0.10 mm for fanuc.
